The City of Scio is concerned with the safety of all citizens. From time to time there may be emergency situations that require citizens to take extra precautions. We will make every effort to provide as much information during such an event through the use of Emergency Bulletins. We encourage you to sign up with the Linn-Benton Alert System as a way to obtain additional information in the event of an emergency.
Special Attention - We would like to remind drivers to pay special attention during school hours, lots of children walk to school, and due to the age of many of our residential streets, sidewalks are not always available. Be sure to give them the appropriate right-of-way. Remember it is the law to stop at cross-walks to allow people to safely cross the streets.
Emergency Situations - Due to the expertise needed in various emergency situations, these services are provided by other Public Service Entities. Remember that your first call in an emergency is 9-1-1 and the appropriate government agency will respond to your call.
