Scio Public Library is a proud recipient of the Pilcrow Foundation’s Children’s Book Project grant. The library received these new children’s books in November 2024.
The Pilcrow Foundation, a national non-profit public charity, supports rural public library communities through the foundation’s Children’s Book Project. New, quality, hardcover children’s books are provided to rural libraries through this project. Librarians, in partnership with Friends of the Library or other local sponsors are asked to raise one third of the funds used to purchase the new books. This local sponsorship builds community investment in children’s literacy and in the library’s future.
Scio Public Library received 65 books through the Children’s Book Project Grant, plus an additional 40 books through the foundation’s donor-sponsored program. The retail value of the 105 books received was $1,926.44.
